Sometimes people thinks they are artistic and that their concepts are amazing and that they’ll receive praise because of this. In this movie, it’s not.
You’re using the people as guinea pigs to see how your “art” will be taken but people’s time are wasted.
Stop making crappy films.

Save your money go somewhere else! blankets smelled like if they haven’t been washed!! Rude staff at that! Dirty room! Homeless everywhere, felt really uncomfortable! I checked out same day and got my money back! Went somewhere else! Date of stay: February 2020 Trip type: Traveled with family Kriens, Switzerland 5 contributions 2 helpful votes We had a three-night stay at this hotel. When we went to sleep in the second night, we discovered a bed bug calmly walking between our pillows. We then called the reception, which immediately gave us another room. Unfortunately, however, when we woke up the next morning, my partner was full of bed bug bites, which, after some days, turned into ugly infections. Even more, our request for a refund was denied, which left us deeply disappointed and dissatisfied. Never again. Date of stay: January 2020 Location Service Sleep Quality 1 contribution 2 helpful votes This was hands down one of the most disgusting places I have ever stayed in. The “hotel” had some of the shadiest people I have ever seen going in and out of there. This place was clearly a place where people lived on a monthly basis. The room my family was put in had the nastiest carpet and nothing had been wiped down prior to our arrival. The bathtub had what appeared to be blood at the bottom of it and the curtains had stains going up to the ceiling. It was way over priced for what it was. I felt extremely unsafe here and my family and I found ourselves staying out as long as possible just so we didn’t have to be in that room. I would not recommend this place to anyone who isn’t a crack head. Ive stayed in motels cleaner than this place. Date of stay: July 2019 Trip type: Traveled with family 9 contributions 2 helpful votes Zero is my rate but one for the great staff. The place should be closed by a government health protection agency. Smell terrible, the carpet is very old and dirty. Dusty dirty curtains, bathroom is chipped and old rusty shower. Outside is depressing messy and it’s location is a homeless neighborhoods. doesn’t let me leave a feedback because they know it will be bad as I booked for 3 days and had to check out after a few hours in and my son and I started sneezing Date of stay: July 2019 Trip type: Traveled with family Response from GM_Front_Desk, General Manager at Hotel Silver Lake Los Angeles Responded Jul 17, 2019 Dear Thelma, We welcome all feedback as it enables us to get better. Nice! 😀.
The Andrew Garfield character is not sympathetic for a number of reasons. He seems to have reached a crisis point in his life when he is letting go of the past, and his old beliefs, but he doesn’t know where to go next. He may have lost or quit his job, and he is burning through his credit cards and waiting for the rent to run out, while he searches for what to do next. Hatred of the homeless is common in his area, but he feels it particularly keenly because that seems to be next for him. He has no intention, for whatever personal reasons (probably complete disillusionment) of seeking another job, and this gives him a sort of desperate power. His friend, who is still deeply immersed in the system and not looking for an escape route, is baffled by his chess moves. His aggressive actions, like attacking Jesus, the pop star, in the bathroom, at his most vulnerable moment, have a sort of mad genius. He would not have gotten the answers he got if he had politely questioned the man, poolside, with his girls at his side. Many of the things the film reveals are a sort of fable version of the truth. The old songwriter is probably Theodore Adorno, who back engineered most of the popular hits of the sixties and early seventies from classical music. They were really very old peasant songs that had been orchestrated by classical composers. And The Wrecking Crew was a team of very talented musicians who was brought in to record most of the hits. Hollywood probably hated this film because it presents a very unflattering view of the ruling powers. He finds the world is still ruled by a very ancient Egyptian cult. The Bible speaks of the ruling powers as spiritually Egypt. His life up to that point has been a poor man’s imitation of the death cult of materialism. The tombs of ancient kings, filled with all their crap, are the logical end of his man cave mentality. His apartment resembles the bunkers of the ancient, disillusioned, escapist teenagers he finds. They only have more stuff and they can find naive girls to go with them, and they can make places where no landlord comes knocking at their door. It is a sort of triumph that he rejects their way, and he casts away his own man cave mentality along with his apartment and his accumulation of stuff. Where will he go next? No one knows, but he is less afraid and more confident that he can move about in the labyrinth or the matrix. He has established a sort of relationship with the homeless king, and become a sort of acolyte of homelessness in a system he is escaping from, or learning to swim in. As to the hidden messages in art – study The Beatles and Billy Shears. People do sell their souls one way or another to achieve fame and fortune, but as long as they live, no deals are final. They may be killed or driven from society into homeless poverty for violating them, but few can resist the temptation to speak the truth in coded messages and tell their real stories to those who will listen. They desperately search for loopholes in their contracts and they cry out from behind their life masks to be recognized. His last meeting with the homeless king suggests that he will be watched and there will be further contact, as well as law enforcement. There is always law.

Fun fact: the movie was properly released in cinemas in Europe last year. Weird to see the US getting the shaft this hard. Lovely movie. Not great but very interesting.
Andrew Garfield making such weird movies lately, its strange because hes a smart person irl.

The silver bracelet.
I like how Andrew’s character STICKS to an Amazing Spider-Man comic book and FLINGS it away.
The way he moves reminds of Scott Pilgrim for some reason.
Adom 😮 is it anything like Inherent Vice?😮😮 i loved that 😅😅.
OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG.
There is so much to love about this film. It is in the genre of mystery… an unemployed relaxed but driven young guy looking for a pretty girl through a web of odd clues, urban myths that may be real, and lots of subplots and atmospheric pieces that provide a rich and interesting texture which never bores and constantly surprises. The soundtrack, both the instrumental and the songs that form part of the story, are excellent and an integral part of the movie. The cinematography is unique, clean, beautiful and adds to the suspense and the (noir) atmosphere. Some of the subplots don’t seem to be resolved, but that doesn’t seem to matter because the whole film is somewhat quirky. The lead is perfect, and supporting actors also well played.
This isn’t an ‘art-house film’ but it is certainly a work of art which suggests the director either spent a long time thinking about and carefully planning this or he simply a natural genius. Not only would I recommend anyone (above 16) to watch this, but in 20 years time I’d say watch it again. Indeed, there are few films I could see twice, but this is one of them. I didn’t give it a ten because the actual reveal maybe isn’t as interesting or fulfilling as I would have expected, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the important part of the film, and indeed the ending doesn’t necessarily conclude everything with satisfaction, but that really is part of many of the events… true to life, not everything is concluded neatly or can be shown to have a meaning we can decipher.

Silver under spot.
I read Hitchcock’s Vertigo in a similar way. James Stewart tries to make Kim Novak back into the character that he remembers but it’s not her and it ends up destroying the identity of this woman. The image of the real supplants and destroys the real.
Mike broke me I started watching star trek.
Looks intriguing, but dangerously close to being too wacky for the sake of trying to be arty.

Good to hear you liked the movie Adam. That means I’ll probably like it. It’s easily one of my most anticipated films of 2018.
The main reason I watched this movie is because of the trailer and the over-enthousiastly written revieuws I read in a paper. It felt promissing.
So I went see it: first it feels like a comedic parody on old detective noir films, then suddenly it becomes a horror-thriller, then a scene full on comedy, then detective noir again – yet this time it doesn’t feel like a parody, then it becomes horror again. and so on. br>
To put it short: the picture seems not able to decide what it wants to be. Some might call it an experimental mix of genres, yet it felt more like indecisiveness to me.
The individual scenes are good, not great, but good. The complete film just couldn’t win me over.
Furthermore I am kind of pissed of about the plot (don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil anything.
The movie introduces dozens of plot-points throughout the whole, but only ties together a couple of these in the end. So I felt like it needed more to have a satisfying end – despite its allready outrageous runtime!
Anyways, 4 stars nontheless. Love you Andrew…
Go watch ‘The house that jack built.
Ok this is actually hilarious.
Saw Adam first in the line for that film. In the line that was several building long. Wish Cannes screened it in bigger location than Les Arcades. Thanks for review, will definitely check it out, once it is released.
I like how when he’s miming an archer, Mike lets go of the string and the bow at the same time.
